The University of the Philippines (UP) is the country’s national university. This premier institution of higher learning was established in 1908 and is now a university system composed of eight constituent universities located in 17 campuses all over the archipelago. The University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) is the main campus of the University of the Philippines System (UP System), the national university by virtue of Republic Act 9500. The Communication Research program is a showcase of tertiary education in the fields of media and communication in the country. It seeks to develop scholarship, skills, and proficiency among its students by teaching and conducting communication research and by grounding these with practical experience through fieldwork and internship. The program ensures that its graduates are equipped to contribute to the practice of social research in the academe, in the communication and media industries, and in governmental and nongovernmental sectors.

Chinese Language and Culture 2019-2020

Located in Weifang City, Shandong Vocational Animal Science and Veterinary College (SVASVC) is one of the National Key Higher Vocational Institutes and the provincial exemplary one, the largest state-owned vocational training center of its kind in the province. In my stay, I was able to study Chinese language proficiency (HSK-3) and understand the cultural roots of the Chinese. This short course in Chinese Language and Culture offers students an introduction to the language and culture of China. It provides students with a learning base in Mandarin Chinese which they can subsequently build on in their studies. They also learn many aspects of Chinese culture which are essential to communicate effectively in Chinese. Students develop their communication skills, their ability to interact successfully with Chinese people and those from other cultures, and their capacity to be effective language learners. The focus is on understanding and speaking basic Chinese in everyday situations through active engagement in activities and through using digital media. Students learn to become more self-directed in their learning and to identify what helps them achieve their goals. Their progress is supported and accelerated by drawing on their experience of learning other languages. This short course is designed to build confidence and competence through enjoyment and a sense of achievement in learning to speak and write Chinese.

The WPU Career Center offers career guidance and counseling services to the students of Western Philippines University. Established in 2016, WPUCC ensures the students' career development from enrollment to graduation. It operates under the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS). Key Responsibilities: 1. As a Remote Career Guidance Officer, I have the incredible opportunity to drive meaningful change in the lives of our students while leveraging my diverse skill set and experiences in providing exceptional career guidance services and delivering impactful results to our students. 2. One of my achievements was the successful delivery of all audio-visual presentation needs for the WPU Career Center's first-anniversary celebration. I meticulously crafted presentations to effectively showcase the center's accomplishments, mission, and services, leaving a lasting impression on attendees and emphasizing our commitment to student success. 3. Another area where I excelled was in creating compelling written content for the agency's brochures and flyers, crafting impactful messages that resonated with our target audience. 4. I actively seek opportunities to connect with different institutions to identify areas for improvement and to highlight the agency's key strengths by conducting benchmark surveys to gather valuable insights and leverage them to implement strategies, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of career guidance and development. 5.
